ACCESS FOR EVERYONE PLANHUB Cycling's Executive Director, Laura Jane, speaks at the Access for Everyone media event.

The largest regional expansion of cycling infrastructure is on the horizon, but we need your help.

Cycling, when combined with reliable transit, has the potential to address Metro Vancouver's affordability challenges. Unfortunately, our transit system can’t keep up with demand as our region grows rapidly, putting further pressure on affordability. HUB Cycling supports funding the Access for Everyone Plan in Metro Vancouver as the critical next step.

ROAD SAFETY ACTION

Tell Your MLA You Want a New Road Safety Act

Cycling is gaining popularity in BC, but laws governing our road use are out of date. In fact, the laws governing bikes are still held within the “BC Motor Vehicle Act” which received its last major revision in 1957. Safe passing distance, safe speed limits on neighbourhood streets and increased penalties for “dooring” must be included in the new Road Safety Act.

Dooring Death Fine Unacceptable

Tell your MLA you want a BC Road Safety Act now

Our Motor Vehicle Act is so out of date that a death caused due to dooring by a person driving a car results in a maximum fine of $81. The current Motor Vehicle Act, the laws governing cycling and driving in BC, is out of date. The last major revision of this critical legislation was in 1957 and so much has changed since then.

How many more people on bikes must die before the BC Government takes cycling seriously?

Say thanks to the BC Gov. for launching the Active Transportation Strategy

Join us in thanking MLA’s for their hard work and commitment towards a cleanBC.

The BC Government has committed to improving active transportation in our province by launching an Active Transportation Strategy. The have come out with proactive targets and action areas to double active transportation mode share by 2030

Let's celebrate this achievement.

Permanent Congestion Relief Fund

email your local federal MP and candidates to call for more Metro Vancouver transit funding

Provincial and local governments are already preparing for the future, but the federal government needs to get on board too.
This federal election, HUB Cycling and the Mayors’ Council for Regional Transportation is calling on all federal MPs, candidates and parties to commit to a permanent national transit fund, delivering $375m of annual, reliable and dedicated transit funding for Metro Vancouver.

BC Active Transportation Strategy

Have your voice heard on active transportation

The BC Government is drafting their Active Transportation Strategy (ATS) which will shape policy on cycling for years to come. HUB Cycling is a long time ATS advocate because it provides British Columbians more healthy, equitable, environmentally friendly ways to get around.

This is our chance to shape the ATS to include critical investment in cycling
