Vancouver’s upcoming byelection on April 5 will bring two new City Councillors into office. This is a crucial moment for cycling advocacy. We need to ensure they prioritize safe, accessible and connected active transportation infrastructure for all.

Our Vancouver Local Committee released a mid-term report card evaluating two years of Vancouver City Council and Park Board decisions on cycling-related motions.

The results?

A mixed record on support for safe cycling. Some elected officials champion cycling-friendly policies, while others have consistently voted against measures that would improve conditions for people on bikes. This report card highlights how elected officials have supported—or hindered—efforts to make cycling better for everyone.
HUB Cycling is ready to engage with the new council to push for policies that make cycling safer and easier. But we need your help to make it happen. Your donation fuels our advocacy efforts, helping us work with decision-makers to build a city where more people can bike, walk, and roll with confidence.
