Get Involved with Your Local Committee

No experience required - just your enthusiasm!

Support safer streets in your neighborhood.

HUB Cycling, Metro Vancouver's cycling advocacy organization has 10 volunteer-led Local Committees working to make cycling (and walking and rolling), better for everyone.

Committees meet monthly (virtually and in-person) and collaborate to improve safety, accessibility, and streets for people walking, cycling or using wheelchairs and strollers. Advocacy is powered by people, like you, we are always looking for people to join!  We even have leadership positions available in most of our 10 committees.

No experience necessary and everyone is welcome.

If you are passionate about making your neighborhood safer, greener and healthier or even looking to gain experience in community organizing, municipal politics or urban development, check out our HUB Local Committees!

Joining a Committee is a great way to make a tangible impact — and gain valuable experience along the way!

By getting involved, you'll have the chance to:
  • Work directly with municipal staff, elected officials and community organizations
  • Help solve local road and sidewalk problems and learn how they affect local communities
  • Build leadership skills and grow your confidence in advocacy and teamwork
  • Expand your network by connecting with new people who share your passion
  • Help improve the livability and safety of neighborhoods

Local Committees take action through:
  • Writing letters to decision-makers
  • Providing feedback on future transportation projects
  • Meeting with politicians, planners, and engineers
  • Organizing rides to assess cycling conditions
  • Hosting community events and building local alliances

Local Committees are the backbone of HUB Cycling’s advocacy, and the work they do has already led to major improvements across the region.

Get involved, build your skills, and help shape a safer, more bike-friendly future for your community.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at HUB Cycling

Inclusion is an underpinning value of what HUB Cycling stands for, as reflected in our Core Values:

  • Respect all forms of transportation.
  • Value cycling as a community-building tool and as a healthy practice for individuals and our environment.
  • Provide inclusive, forward-thinking programs and services, known for engagement and empowerment of the community and their transportation choices.
  • We view the diversity of our members and communities as assets and strive to create and sustain a diverse and culturally competent organization that reflects the populations we serve. This is central to our mission, “to get more people cycling more often” and to our ongoing efforts to remove barriers to cycling.
